Airsoft guns are low-powered compared to BB guns and pellet guns, which can shoot 600 fps+

VFC 416, Systema M150 complete gearbox(includes magnum motor), and large 11.1v lipo.

Just get a 15c LiPo. NiMHs and NiCads lose charge over time, supposedly LiPos don't with the added bonus of being able to give the motor the juice it needs.

Seriously? NO ONE else sees this as a bad thing? People wanting to use AIRSOFT guns for home defense... thats a hop skip and thats it from negative press for the sport and politicians deciding to get their grubby paws into airsoft and regulating their sale "for the greater good".

This is just my opinion, but if someone broke into my house and I needed to defend myself and my family, I would never think of using an Airsoft gun. No matter how powerfull it is. My reasoning behind that is, I don't think an Airsoft gun would put someone down like a real gun would. If someone broke in, I want to be confident that I have something that can put someone down if I had to. If your friend thinks he's a bad shot, theirs always lessons you can take to show you how to shoot correctly and more efficiently. Anyway, good luck with your project.

Buy a Big5 Special shotgun.

Yeah. You pull out you airsoft m4 for defense. The robber pulls a gun as well. Now you shoot bbs as he shoots a 40 cal bullet. Better hope you run in to some pansy ass criminals. Learn to shoot.

nothing good can come of this.

the only reason for me using an airsoft gun for home defense would be to use it as a blunt object in a moment or panic, a kwa pistol works good since they have a lot of metal, one of the older 1911s would be the best i would say, grip and rip my friend, grip and rip

shotgun? i hear they hit virtually anything in the general vicinity of the barrel...and even if u dont hitthem, you just made teh intruder shit bricks :P

Tell him NO.

This would be a proper method to this. Tell if him, if he doesn't want a gun, that any sporting good store sells a good bat. 100% better then an airsoft gun for home defense.

bats are cheaper, and you dont have to load them...
