Well, I've been bitten by the WWII bug. That being said, has anyone looked into a M1 carbine AEG? I was thinking of getting a real wood body and mounting an M14 gearbox into it, but I'm not sure if that would work. Anyone got any experience with this kinda thing?

http://www.shootnscoot.co.uk/index.php is working on one, but has yet to release it. He uses scorpion internals built into a carbine body, basically attaches a longer barrel and then drops the scorpion mags into real steel carbine mags.
That's pretty much the idea I had, but I was going to use a M14 gearbox and then try to use a short Mp5 mag inside a RS one. Skorpion internals probably wouldn't give it the punch needed in a game, though using a skorpion mag sounds like the way to go 8)
The m1 carbine is just a VERY small gun. It's over all width and height just do not allow for a gearbox to fit in the stock. My project never got finished really, and it was about 5-10% over scale to fit the gearbox. Some day I will come back to it, but not any time soon sadly.

It's really too bad too, the M1 Carbine is a very cool gun. It was used quite a lot in all theaters the US fought in and the folding stock version is awesome.
