again it depends on what you gauge to b e JDM. Theres a company in socal that does import cars, and they do R31 to R34 Shells, interiors, etc etc all from OEM parts from Nissan Japan. They ship the car minus the motor (as it's considered "parts", and not a motor vehicle by the DOT and Customs). After they install DOT approved glass and other required parts, you just need to source the motor, which can either be a JDM crate motor from Nissan, or custom build. The artical I had been reading about the about, included a example of a R34 in the western US, driving around with a Corvette motor under the hood.
