College History
Junior year my US history teacher spent close to 2 months on the Flappers and the 1920's. WW2 was covered in 4 days. Cuban missile crisis was covered by watching "Thirteen Days".

I did understand the material we did not cover because I did research it.
lol @ Texas. The Texas Board of Education removed Thomas Jefferson from texts books that talked about the enlightenment period and replaced him with John Calvin for a more religious view...

My problem is many teachers are not teaching the history plan that is laid out for them in public schools. They are teaching THEIR VERSION of history.

im in high school, and we spent 3 weeks on WW1, 4 weeks on WW2, and 4 weeks on the cold war, we actually got into detail about a few subject but for the most part we brushed on topics. we did here alot about the beril wall, and the berlin bloakcades though. and i go to a public school, i was suprised we spent so long on theses topics

My english teacher last year... She went on a rant about how American military action was useless and a waste of her tax dollars. She went on to insult anyone who has joined the military since the second world war. She gave a very enthusiatic bit about how stupid and useless people who served in Vietnam were. She claimed that if they signed up it's because they were ignorant to what would happen, and people who were drafted should have just refused to go. She then started to talk about how all veterans were useless now. I stood up in class and cut her off there. 15 minutes of yelling later I was sent to see the VP for "Miss-informing students, disrupting class, and spewing patriotic garbage."

You find that most History professors know very little about WWII. Years ago a good friend of mine, also a WWII buff, took a "Military History" class at the local JC.
