Apparently, this is actually more like the "Old Sacair" of the CP days, where newbs were welcome, and were made to feel welcome. Times when teams were mixed with newbs and vets. The days before the all the private games and before handpicking the people you wanted at a game. Where it wasn't always the "Allstars vs. the new people."
Look, I'm a politician, which means I lie, and I'm a cheat.

Then I have a question for you, where do you think it has changed? why are new players discouraged from playing on the same side of the vets or playing at all? what can be done to make it more fair for everyone?

My take on it. What happens on the board and what happens at the games are two entirely different things. Since you haven't been out to a "Sacair" game in a few months, I'll take it that you don't know what's going on out there and any information you're getting is second hand. (Not your fault, of course. I do realise your particular situation and I am very sympathetic to you, Bruce. You know that from the conversations we've had on AIM.) Once the first timers make it out to a game, they calm down on the boards.

Maybe I'm looking at things from an 'old sacair' prespective.

Well, the problem is that the membership base is growing at an exponential rate. Changes have to be made to accomodate that. A lot of new people were expressing the feeling of being unwelcome. I can understand that. I can see where they're coming from, having spoken to them. There is an attitude that goes around, and it is noticeable. I even noticed it when I first started, right when Airsoftfreak99 was banned for having a game with no admin present, when there was a post on the front page making it clear that some people were only going to play private games with the 18+ crowd. When Sacair has a grey background and green letters, and a weapons gallery and a review section. Right when Sacair lost Cameron Park. I may not have been around during Cameron Park, but I didn't just start attending events last weekend. And yeah, I've been to quite a few of the games than Ron ran in the past year and a half, thanks. But enough of that.

This is for sure not the old sacairsoft. What alarms me is that Vets vs Newbs that is the reason I decided to start SacAir. I really can't start to tell you how much that bugs me, its got to change. I agree we need to hold meetings, ill post a thread about it soon.

A really important question just hit me. According that what's being said, vets and new players have been mixed together for all the games, even throughout this past year or two. If that's true, then what's the difference between the way the games are run now and the way they have been run in the past year? Why is there a large group of vets who don't want to come out to the Sacair games now, claiming they don't like how the games are run? If had always been run like this, then really, there has been no change.
