UTG m324 acting up (whats new?)

Okay guys, i bring you another problem. So just last night i was gifted an old (anywhere from 1st-3rd gen) utg m324. My friend gave it to his younger brother when he no longer wanted it. His brother is like 8. My friend saw his brother treating the gun badly so he gave it to me. Basically im surprised the gun still is in one piece. There was corrosion on the cylinder and outer barrel. When i took down the gun basically everything was loose and rusty. The cylinder looked okay for how old and misused the gun was. But the shity plastic spring guide was chipped at the bottom half where the spring rests. Recently (within the last five minuets) the piston would not remain set back when I pushed the bolt forward. Im guessing this is because of the broken spring guide?

the issue with it not staying back is either the trigger sears or the piston being worn out to the point that the piston won't catch on the sears. The m324 uses almost entirely proprietary parts, so you can't generally replace anything, but if it's the piston that's worn the new cylinder kit will fix it. The cylinder kit may increase your fps but it won't do anything for your accuracy.

If it was property of an 8 year old, you accuracy problem likely can be solved by cleaning the barrel for the first time ever. That kit you linked to also includes a tightbore barrel, so one can only assume that it would improve your accuracy. I think that airsoft GI sells a replacement trigger sear for it too.
