Eyewear

I've read the forums and have seen that people recommend wearing a mask for CBQ and goggles for field play. That said i'm curious as to what most people wear for "goggles"...are we talkin paintball masks with the face protection removed, tactical goggles (wiley x or along those lines), sunglasses, those wraparound glasses you can get at Big 5, ski goggles or all of the above? I take it all are acceptable (not sure about the sunglasses, i know i don't have any i'd want shot with a bb) just curious what the most popular choice is

It will range from full paintball masks to just shooting glasses. The level of protection you desire reflects the game or situation you play. Usually I don’t wear full masks (actually Weekend Warrior is the only time I do) but that’s my choice. I run the risk of thing like chipped teeth in CQB and all the other bad things. I would have to say I trust the people I play with not to openly shoot me in the face (usually if you ask nice in the middle of a game they wont, i.e. Kahn).

I plan on going to the dentist and getting some teeth guards fitted. the full face mask is nice, but since its so hot, I can't imagine having a chunk of plastic on my face in 103˚F weather. Snoopy uses a lower face guard which I thought was pretty cool and easy to use.[/list]

I would shy away from anything that's not impact rated, i.e. ski googles. As for sunglassess, I would make sure they fully wrap around your eyes and are impact rated. Wiley-X, Bolle, ESS, Peltors, and Oakley goggles are among the most popular for airsofting.

I usually wear impact rated glasses and occasionally a mouth piece. I wear the mouth piece because I am a pretty man and I intend to stay that way....

what ever you go with most saftey or shooting glasses/goggles have a ANSI (American National Standards Insitute) z87.1 rating for impact. you might want to look for that when looking for eye protection.

Another thing to keep in mind is facial features. This is especially true for me, being asian. I've tried on numerous brands but virtually none of them fit me because I have a flat nose. There would be a huge gap at the bridge of my nose that would easily allow a BBs to get through. ESS NVGs? Nope! Bolle X800s? Nope! Wiley-X SG-1s? Nope! The only googles/sunglasses that would fit me were the Peltors. :?
