contractor clothing

Hey guys, I'm not sure where at here or who posted it but someone was asking something about what contractore wear? Just for info, the contractors that we were with (or were with us) usually wore sterile bdu's or blue jeans and a t-shirt or polo shirt. They also wore plain bdu style pants of a solid color usually tan or o.d. green. Hiking boots and always some kind of a vest, be it a fishing vest, survival vest, 5.11 (way too expensive even on my salary) photographers vest and some kind of a ball cap. We wore pretty much the same also or we would also wear local clothes. We also wore the Massoud hat alot, course hot in the summer. Remember, contractors are not part of the military and they are more lax. Oh and we all had beards most of the time. If you were young and baby faced, oh how the pasthoons loved you! Welcome to the terp room! they also carried the same type of weapons for tactical reasons. It don't pay to have a G3 or some other type of foriegn high speed weapon when all the other "Joes" are toting M4's. Not much use for subguns (MP5's) in the field, keep those for CQB. OOps gotta go get my oldest girl from school. ?'s feel free to send.

I don't know man. Contractors can make 200K/year to compare with regular soldier 25k/year. They can afford to buy what ever they want.

Interesting pieces. The second one has an obvious slant to it....

First of all, yes, I was trying to help, but hey I'll keep my mouth shut, since some of you definately know it all by reading the press, such as the S.F. Chronicle. Oh most definately money matters, but if it matters that much, why did I turn down jobs making $200,000.00 plus? Well, the contractors don't get to call in CAS (that's close air support for those of you who don't know it all), the only way you get medevac or cas is if you're working with a mil unit. Now let me see,.....all those companies do exactly what you said in your articles, but there's more going on than some of know, I spent a year there working close and I still am in the dark. The OGA's have contractors also, and many of those and the ones mentioned the teams have to be a tier 1 operator. That means that you need to be a full blown military spec-op shooter that has been to every high speed school there is, so they have certain missions to assist the military.

I've noticed something, many of you don't have anything in your profile?

Ya, that's usually because we find all that info out during the first meet so it was never really needed.

Thanks guys, I didn't mean to sound a little miffed there, just trying to get my point across. I'll get out to some games, no problem there, but not for awhile I go in for shoulder surgery on tuesday.
