I have actually had those same glasses for like 4 months now and have never had any issues with lenses popping out or frames breaking. If your friend would like to sell the removable seals cheap I'd like to have them as I lost mine at a game 2 weeks ago
I've owned the Guarder pair, and two pairs of the Guarder clone. the actual guarders were lost in Vegas ( You know the rule about vegas), but had been to numberous games before then. Taken some good shots to the lenses as well with no problems.

I didn't see an ANSI rating on those goggles in the first place. I don't skimp on eye pro or even mess around without full seal anymore. But if you can save some money on eye pro and go spend your money elsewhere thats all you. May I suggest spending the saved money on something like this:
