I had no idea there was all this junk for these guns.
pretty far down the page the have a 72 round drum mag for a compact or subcompact glock. who really needs that?
There's all kinds of stuff out there. Companies are coming up with crap that try to sell to civilians and play it off that the military uses it or police special tactics units use the stuff. If these guys carried eveything that the cataloges claim that it's "issued" they'd be drug down. I laugh everytime I see an add claiming the the SEALS or S.F. or whoever uses them. Okay, we used, um let's see...purchase Oakleys or Wiley X's, purchased camelbacks, a casio watch oh and a Bangkok knock off rolex or brietling, one k-bar, one blackie collins folding blade.

Well, I guess I'm serious, depending on what you're asking about? Yes, I did a lot of out of pocket when I deployed. I even bought my own nvg, and garmin! Of course we all had garmins so now they say that they're products are "tested and used" by special military blah blah blah. Is that what you're asking?

yessiereee! serious as a heart attack. My wife bought me a little nvg from big 5, I used it until the active guys linked up with me and i got a set of nvg's, i picked up my fake ass "folex" and brietling while I was in bangkok on my way to sri lanka and lets, oh the "foakley's" i got there too, only because they came with hard cases, the wiley x shooting glasses I got from my job, the wiley x goggles that they gave us kept fogging up on me, i took both of my own body armor with me and wore it more than the stuff they issued. or i just wore the plates ouside my body armor. did i forget anything? let me know
Blackhawk tactical gear? Or something else? (One of my friends has tons of friends that are LEO and apparently, they don't use Blackhawk.)
Some guys use it, some don't. It's a matter of taste and how much money you want to spend. Or it depends on the department too. Some units and departments will let you use what the have. It's good stuff, don't get me wrong but I shop around. I know this sounds crazy but my lil five dollar oakley knockoffs work just as well as $100.00 plus. My wife can get discounts from her job for oakleys, but why? I'm still paying less, but of course there is the issue of the knockoffs stealing profit from the corporations. I won't even go there. Alot of knockoffs are seconds from the factory, everyone of mine has a slight defect on the logo. So are those knockoffs? Anyway. I got a Tactical Tailor '3 day plus' patrol pack from a tac-p i was with in korea, I love it, I won't pay out of pocket for one but they were experimenting with those. I oopsed, I have to back up and eat some words, um, when we were at bragg getting ready to deploy we took some pics of some of us in under armor t's, and such and the wives got together and wrote letters and our pics to some of the companies and we did recieve some items. But it's not like the whole unit went out and tested these items and issued them. It' like the seals have so many watches issued to them! Most of the guys in central america with us back in the early 90's wore a simple dive watch!
EDIT: Nevermind. They were talking about something different.
