Never let a friend use your equipment

Sep 7, 2010 11:56pm
Hey guys, recently I let a friend barrow my mids, he reassured me if any broke he would buy me another. This was a lie. He played his game and during the game, the mags wouldn't feed. He called me and I suggested it may be the crappy bbs he uses, but he thought spraying silicon oil in the mags would be a great idea. All 9 of my midcaps are double or triple feeding. They are MAG brand midcaps and was wondering if anyone had a way to clean them. Maybe take all the springs and poke around? I just need to get these up and running again so any help would be greatly appreciated.

re-think who you consider a friend / be more strict about who you let use your stuff.

Try pouring some Isoproypl Rubbing Alcohol in it, shake it around a lil, then dump it. repeat once more to clean any remaining crap out. That'll break down the oils, and it evaporates quickly so you dont have to worry about it rusting, or even taking the mags apart.

Just be carefull with the Ispropanol, it can rub off the paint in the plastics, i stress CAN.
