It depends entirely (IMO) on the character of those who are present. I remember several games at the CQB field back in the day were we were running 400fps inside and outside the building, with full auto. I had Glenn, dump a good trigger pull worth of 400fps 6mm pain on my ass at about 15ft. It ended with us both laughing about it and a good dozen plus welts on my butt cheeks.

I have played in games with 600 FPS with guys and gals who know how to play. They take a shot, place it well and go on. The distances are usually no closer than one hundred feet and most shots take place at greater distances. It allows for the game to be spread out and allows for greater engagement distances, like in desert areas or light brush. Full auto was used rarely because most of these people could hit with just one shot. They were interested in making shots at distance, not in hurting anyone. And with certain people I can trust, I will play in that type of game.

High fps for games outdoors with far apart obstacles, that's okay.
