Have any of you dealt with one that redirects you to a site that asks for all you personal info such SSN#, bank routing #, ATM card and pin#? I tried to balance my checkbook for my bank, when I tried to go into my online statement, it did just that. It rerouted to a page that asked for that info. I'm in the process to figure out the details of that issue so I can eliminate it. The antivirus is not finding anything.

Make sure there are no new programs installed on your computer. I can't remember the exact search term..but if you search your hardrive for *.mal (i think that's it) it'll make sure there is no malware. idk if that's the exact characteristic of malware, but it worked for me

I got tired of waiting ten minutes for my WINDOWS Pc to finish loading I use to leave it running 24/7 then the stupid disk clean up and anti virus would run then would download every hour to update that's all my pc ever did. It bogged it down so much I couldn't use the damn thing I had to format it every six month for it to run how I needed it to run. I got tired if doing it so I just bought a MAC (used) and I'm not stressed any more I just work for me it has it's pros and cons but the damn thing works. I used to hate mac back in the day alway had low virtual memory it pissed me off now I'm back lol

I'm with you.. whoever makes these things should serously die in horible ways. My computer is serously FUBAR right now and it pisses me off. No Sheep, I did not download or look at porn... ever. This weekend when Dani is here I'm going to take all my photos and put them on her computer and then just wipe the whole hard drive and start over. I really hate people sometimes.

What Anti-virus software are you running? A lot of new problems need more than just an AV to find them.

the deal plain and simple is a trojan HAS to be open by the user end of story. So either an email, or soem other exe was clicked on and you download the program and actually installed it your own self. If you had an anti virus that was up todate, getting a trojan is very hard. Never click an executable file in an email or fb post, or randomly on a web page unless you know who,what,when, why, and how about it. Viruses attack the unexpecting and thats how they infect everyone. I have my computer running pretty much 24/7 for almost 6 years now and it has not hard a virus, i still get spyware and malware, but you get that just go to webpages and i clean that up weekly with http://www.lavasoft.com/ and http://www.safer-networking.org/index2.html both free both work great. Bottom line stop clicking popups for free smilies and screensavers, stop opening email attachements, no dont click the "free virus or spyware scan"check links at the bottom of your browser to make sure they go where they are supposed to, and dear god get an anti virus, if not norton or mcafee then one of the 30 or so great ones that are freeware. Its really easy to not get virus just pay attention.

No, it's my fault and I know it, I had not updated any anti virus stuff for a long time, I had it coming... it still sucks. I honestly am so retarded with computers I am suprised I've gone this long without trouble.

I have my own laptop that i keep up to date on everything and it runs perfectly smooth virus free. I've had my laptop for years now and i rarely ever get viruses. It's not my computer that has problems, it's theres i have to try and maintain and make sure it doesnt fall apart. My parents, and my younger brothers use that computer, and i make sure that they know not to click on any popups or free scans or anything, trust me i keep them up to date. I try to keep their computer updated and i have an Anti-virus on there, but they still somehow manage to fuck shit up.

As per my issue, how I suspect it loaded to my pc was via those pop up windows that ask you if you're sure that you want to leave the site with the the 2 button choices of yes or no. I've learned a long time ago to just ctrl+alt+delete out of that program. It's been a dirty trick that I've fallen into once or twice. The last time I got one of those was when I was searching for sheds or shed building plans. So it's not just porn. :)
