Army r45 Detonics

ok, so ive been looking for a little, unusual pistol and the detonics .45 caught my eye. i thought the only ones out there were the ones made by TM but i found the Army ones on ehobby. I know they arnt going to be the quality of a TM but just wondering how they are and if they are worth buying. btw i was thinking about the full metal version and put in a new recoil spring/ spring guide and hammer spring. possibly try to find a TM hopup for it.

best bet nick is to buy yourself a tm one. My brother owns the TM chrome .45 detonics, the thing is small but VERY intimidating via sound and recoil/kick. Very gas efficient for a small gun, i can get 1-3/4 mags out of 1 gas fill, which is pretty good for what recoil it gives. Very crisp and reliable. Works in cold weather nicely too.

yea this is the first time ive actually considered a clone over a TM, but im just wondering, because with the TM i would be spending quite a bit of money since i love my guns with metal :D The TM detonics is 130$ with a 120$ guarder kit and then around 25$ for the spring guide and recoil spring and hammer spring. thats 275$. im just wondering if i can spend around 120$ for the army one (gun, recoil sping/guide/hammer spring, and a couple of mags) and get it to be semi close to marui standards.

but then again the TM has everything you want already. No need for a secondary upgrade on the springs/spring guides. It gives a very NICE CRISP recoil and sound that will satisfy you. I can almost say its like a .22

ehh but if i got a TM i would sooner or later force myself to buy the guarder kit for it, in which you need to get the recoil spring and all that jazz to make it worth having a metal body on it. also i would upgrade the hammer spring straight out of the box.

the army products are pretty good for clones. I've had the detonics and it worked great never a problem. I currently have a couple of the g17s and they seem to be pretty good too. They are complete clones and all teh tm parts I had around have fit in them when/if I need them. you dont really need to upgrade all those parts in the detonics as it is such a nice gun already and shoots pretty consistant and accurate. But like most things people like to change parts so it is up to you.

I see a lot of talk about the TM 1911's and their clones... What about the KWA PTP series? Are they not compatible with TM parts?

no KWA is not compatable with anything but KWA due to the ns2 system and a bunch or propriatary parts that are in them.
