Best M4 out there?

May 9, 2005 4:51am
I haven't played a ton of Airsoft, but I do love it! I have been very happy with my G36c, but I have upgraded it with some great stuff. The problem is that my gun is so heavy! I tried switching to the lighter version by going with the smaller foregrip and battery, but the gun isn't the same.

I've got 2 CA m4 carbines and I've been real happy with both. Comes with metal body, and a decent reinforced gearbox, metal bushings. Makes basic upgrades easy without having to replace alot. You may find yourself replacing the piston heads early on. Niether one of mine had a decent seal, but that's a cheap upgrade.

AK still gets my vote.....

I agree with BlackIce... I'm really happy with my CA M15A4 Carbine. I'm running an m120 spring and got a new piston head when the upgrade was done and have had no problems... I have heard other people poop on CA guns but I don't know what there're talking about, mine works great.

If the G36C wasn't for you after you switched to a smaller front end and lighter battery, then no M4 will be for you either, as they all use the same sized battery, which will give about the same effect of your G36C on a small battery.

I know this might not be relevant to you Rock, but maybe gun balance is also an issue? An m4 with a crane stock will bring some of the weight to the back and place less fatigue on the fore end arm. Just a thought.

Try a custom built large batt pack in the bottom half of the mag box. The weight would also be futher back.

My CA M15A4 Carbine which is upgraded to an M120 spring is using the 1800 mah nunchuck Ni-MH battery, works pretty well and the batter isn't too heavy. The man down game was the first one that I have actually run in out since I bought it. I also have a 1050 mah mini Ni-MH which works but not to good.
May 9, 2005 9:17pm
ack, finished too soon. The 1050 mah ni-mh works in my gun but the rate of fire is noticably lower... my friend who has the CA MP5 got the same upgrade and had to switch to a much bigger battery to make it work. His 1050mah ni-mh didn't work at all...

you can't expect to be lazy on reloading (drum mag) and expect the gun to be light. all the fancy crud makes the gun heavier.

I hate how Version 2 gearboxes crack all the time...LoL
