KWA m4 piston head

Oct 16, 2010 12:07am
I have heard horror stories of kwa's having terrible compression issues from having a non ported piston head. I have a kwa m4 on my soon to buy list and am wondering if this is a part in need of upgrading right away. If so will the ported piston raise my fps? My target fps is no more than 400.

They are actually one of the best "non-ported" piston heads I've seen in regard to performance. I haven't seen much a performance increase, if any, by replacing the piston head - even if you do you may not be within legal limits ie; 400+ fps... As most KWA m4's are close to that 400 mark. My only problem with them is that they are aluminum... I'd prefer plastic

We do sell a simple but bulletproof mosfet.

I thought you didnt need a mosfet to run a lipo in a KWA. I mean they are always good idea though

The kwa's gears and internals are reinforced, however a mosfet will help reduce the wear (crap collecting on your trigger contacts), spikes from the motor, ect.

well i know that stuff haha, it just makes me raise the question on why they dont do a pre installed mosfet but I guess they are that confident that the gun can handle a lipo unprotected without a mosfet

They dont do it because it costs money and technically is unneeded.
