Dude...I "camped out" on the living room floor with my 5 year old son. I was awake most of the night since he tosses and turns all night.

A Lance Corporal we just hired, who has full POST, who served multiple tours in Iraq and has a spit clean criminal record summed up his experience when he inquired about possible openings in the Sacramento Sheriffs Department into one simple response he got....

15+ years ago when I first started out in public safety, I entered into this profession for two reasons. The first reason was to help people and the second was for job security.

i know what u mean, i grew up in fresno amongst bulldog gang members, drugs and gun trafficking, i lost a few friends in drive by's, thats the reason i want to get into LE, to help people, make difference, even if its a small one

thanks bill, well my grandfather knows the commissioner of the chp, so maybe that will give me a slight edge, im submitting my application this next summer, hopefully il be in the January class of 2011
