question regarding real steel volitility
A buddy and I were pondering a rule that applies to most airsoft fields; that is that a hit to your gun constitutes a. Hit to you. I was thinking about that when last week I got called out on a gun hit, so I tried to come up with reasoning.
I'm sorry, was that your face?!
Depends on the round and what kind of gun gets hit. Most of the time, I would say most rifle type rounds would cut through a gun without much issue and hit you (assuming you were inline with the round to start wtih). As far as the magazine thing. No. Ammo is pretty harmless outside a barrel.

Andrew, just for you I will shoot one round with another when I go to the range today. I have some blanks that will work just fine as targets.

What about a grenade? Definitly not testable, but I was talking to a friend of mine about this thread and he asked about a grenade. Would it go off? Assuming it was in a pouch attached to a vest?
depends where you hit it. Really depends if you cause the fuse to pop and be released I think. If you were to just hit the comp B in it I do not believe that would set it off.
Meh, thermite... Quarter-sized piece of C4.... One electric blasting cap... One wrap of det cord.... What else?? :D

Now.. I think the real question here is this... if you eat a lot of gassy foods... say cabbage and are now filled with lots of methane.. and say you get shot in the ass with a tracer... will YOU explode?
