I'm looking to buy a spring assisted knife or something like that. My budget is around $100. What do you guys recommend?

I recommend moving to a state where they're legal.

I've seen some crappy ones for sale at Arden Mall so yeah they're definitely legal.

cold steel ti lite, find them on amazon.com for around $50, great knife AUS8 steel, the blade has ridges you can catch on your pocket for faster opening.

Exactly, they are only spring assisted. Anyway, I would suggest the SOG Trident all the way. Comes in various finishes like tiger stripe or ACU handles, and it's AUS8 steel is a perfect strength for any every-day task you might have.

I'd check out SOG, i know they have quite a few spring assisted knives. I personally own a SOG Flash II. Great nice, opens pretty quick actually, but the only thing i'm not a big fan of is the switch you use to close it. Like the others said, with spring assisted knives, know that the spring will eventually become worn and wont work as well.

For spring assisted you can't beat Zero Tolerance Knives... I have two and they're amazing. The 300, 301, and 302 have the strength of a fixed blade in a folder because of the thick blade and titanium frame lock though they're a bit large for EDC. The 350 is a great EDC choice and SKD tac has an exclusive ZT model 360 thats based off the 350 but with a different blade curve and a carbide glass breaker. Of course if you want a spring operated, I am selling a microtech :). Not legal for carry in CA unless you're a uniformed member of the military but nothing explicitly prohibits you from owning one in your home.

Try the Gerber and the Camillus. They are also good knives.
