EMT's Medics Trauma Shear Question

Oct 6, 2010 11:30pm
For any medics or EMT's or anything out there, I want to know if anyone has a good pouch they use for their Trauma Shears (Just the shears, all my other equipment and what not has a good spot). I want them on my chest or on my Safariland 6004. I have MOLLE on my vest and was thinking MOLLE or a belt pouch for the straps on my safariland.

Think speed, those are one of the first things you may need. Before IV's, morphine or any of that. I would say in a side pouch opposite of how your gun hangs. When I was firefighter I didnt carry a gun so its hard to say...but think speed.

Thats all win, most EMT carry shears, forceps, and hemostats in their pockets hanging from them. However were not in tactical combats situations. That case though is all win.

Thanks for the quick responses. Right now I keep them in a pack, but hate it. I have put them in my MOLLE straps with my pen light and what not, but it doesn't stay in there tight. I thinking about trying the SOE holder, but sewing a vercro strap on it.

uh..... dude. put it with your IFAK. You wont necessarily need them first. Depends on the injury. But, that's another discussion entirely.

Negative. I'm gonna reposition a pouch and stick the shears there.
