Improving trigger response

I know this has been asked so many times, but I still can't get an answer that can help me choose one solution over another.

From my experience, deans help. Not alot, but why not add them even if it only helped 1%? If you dont have a mosfet, get one in your gun. Passive breaking will do just fine. Ive also had good experience with capacitors. If you dont plan on going lipo, then add some 12v computer capacitors to the wiring in your stock. A capacitor deloads much quicker then a battery, so energy s much more readily available when you need it. All of these will be beneficial to your goal, while most importantly keeping your wallet happy.

Deans is much superior to the tamiya. It will help with the trigger response and there will be much less resistance. I use deans and a lipo for my gun and I get great trigger response. Also good wiring does help a lot.

It's called a good motor, and a decent battery. I have awesome trigger response and an awesome RoF using an 8.4v 4200MaH large type converted to deans with a G&P m120.

Great help, thank you everyone. I just bought the deans.

A MOSFET will be beneficial whether or not a lipo is used. Its just suggested to use one to avoid trigger contact arcing. Active breaking isnt necessary, it actually damages the brushes on your motor. You can build Two for 7 bucks, as I just did. Find a MOSFET you want, type it in on eBay and find a two pack so you have an extra. If your wanting quicker response, then a high torque motor is more useful for that application. Value hobby has the best priced lipos, and charger.

gears? personally, i'm using some random 15:1 or 16:1 ratio AIM gears.

I've been searching mosfets for about 5 hours now (oh the "conveniences" of being sick and off work for the day)....

If the m120 spring is shooting below 390, you have some decent leaks going on. With really good compression you can see a m110 pushing 395-398 fps consistently. As a start, get a better motor, and possibly a battery if yours doesn't cut it.

Yeah, it's because there is a leak, but not all springs are the same.

The funny thing is, the sub 400 fps is ok, since it is consistent at least. I play mostly in Humboldt, which the league of here has 425 fps limit and sells .28 or .3g bios which work out great with that range of fps. I visit Sacramento frequently, and played a few games with SacAir, so having sub 400 works out too i guess.
