New as can be to airsoft

I had like one airsoft war at age 15. I'm 19 now and have never played organized airsoft. I'm also very interested in paintball; I was looking at a lot of info and am very excited to play it. Airsoft also looks extremely fun as well. I go to Sac State, but other thant hat, that's pretty much my only business out here (I live on campus). As of now, how can I get into the sport? In particular, are there mil-sim teams/communities out here or in nor cal? I really, really want to play mil sim in both paintball and airsoft. I just like the slower pace and the adrenaline rush.

First off, welome to airsoft, and Sac air. There are a lot of Mil Sim airsoft teams in Northern california. Some of the best ways to meet them(in my opinion) is to come out to games and events at the local fields, get to know people who either might be in, or know someone else who is in, a Mil sim team.
Play, shoot, laugh, enjoy the game.

Most jg are decent guns. Notice I say most. I have a JG Aug i just got recently, adn fell in love with. However I have no experience with that specific gun, So I cant be of more help there. But for 143 bucks its worth a shot, It'll probably be better than most other guns of that price range.

Yeah. Lol, I went through manufacturers by wikipedia and visiting their websites. Lol I feel like I'm shopping for a real fake weapon xD. Lol like the H&K and Steyrs of the airsoft world. I have this 'Borderlands' outlook on fake gun manufacturers. Lol like with X manufacturer, it's good at this and this etc.... should I buy it now? THE TEMPTATION IS SO STRONG! YOU HAVE NO IDEA! i just want to HOLD it! I really enjoy holding assault rifle... anything o.o it could be made out of cardboard. I'd run around with it lol

They are real fake weapons. I am of the opinion if any form of projectile comes out the barrel it is a weapon and should be treated as such. Including airsoft, airguns(like steel bb and pellet, and paintball) I'd say go ahead and buy it It seems like a good deal, and from what little bit of researched I bothered to do,(its late, I'm lazy) it seems a fair gun for the price, not the greatest, but fair, and a good starter gun.
Play, shoot, laugh, enjoy the game.

If you are living on campus, i would hold off on buying a long gun until you move out.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

i'm buying one while i'm in the dorms if i get into it. lol i'm gonna treat it as though it's real. no one is going to see it. i'll keep it in a trunk lol

A gun bad would be highly recommended as well. You can get a cheap one at walmart for like 15 bucks

Just hit me, check the rules on campus and maybe even check with the principal (dean is the term right?) on having one. I know most school campuses ban everything from rubber bands to inert drill rifles so it may be a no go for one on campus.

Go to Airsoft Extreme in Rancho Cordova. They will let you hold any gun there and they have some decently priced ones there as well.
