Long story short I"ve been watching Airsoft GI manufactureer spotlights; I saw a video from Red... red something airsoft that was showcasing good pistols for beginners that were at or under $100. I found one that I liked. Anyway, the first range was priced between $80-100. They shot... 330-350 fps. Two of the guns in the $60-80 range shot like 400-450 fps! You'd naturally think the higher the price, the higher the fps.
Fps isnt everything when it comes to airsoft guns. It all depends on what role your going to fill with your weapon. Just remember, higher FPS, with a lower weight bb, will cause inconstancy, and loss of accuracy.
Play, shoot, laugh, enjoy the game.
Before they got banned at pretty much every private field in California .27 Biovals where the beesknees. I ran them in pretty much everything because they were slightly heavier and pretty much perfect bbs. FPS means little in the world of Airsoft now-a-days.

The Bioval BBMAXXX .27g clear bbs are specificly designed to crack/break glass.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.
Ill never understand Cali, I got grounded because me and my buds were playing in the backyard with my m9s loaded with plain Jane .20s and shot out the siding.

BlainO has it closest to the mark on the Biovals, which are good BB's unfortunately the entire product line has taken a hit, but its just the clear silica based BB's (basically resin impregnated glass) these BB's impart the entire force/velocity with no loss of energy through distortion or compression on target vs: starch or similarly based BB's (most all the regular white BB's) are brittle and by design will fracture with the application of minimal force and dissipate the energy quickly over a larger area. Bioval clear BB's on the other hand do not fracture easily and will impart virtually all their energy at impact with no distribution of force aside from the contact patch, which on a 6mm BB's is what like....tini tiny : ) so ya they will break glass...skin...potentially eye pro...goblins craniums..
Look its a bird its a plane, no its just my broken aeg flying all over the place.
