I know sacair rules on smoke bombs, but I'm wondering the legality of them in California, mainly pertaining to year long and homemade ones. If they are legal I was thinking of asking a fire chief I know to help me "safely" perfect my formula for use in skirmishes and for fun.

I figured. I seem to see mixed results on the matter and the best thing I could find was make sure it has the smart and safe seal (I think that's what it was called), or have some sort of sign off by the local fire chief.

Your best bet for "legal" ones would be the supposedly "non hot" ones they sell for photo shoots and cinematics.

I would be very careful with this. I am a firefighter and know how quickly an awesome idea can turn out badly. With the temperatures and weather we are seeing I would NOT recommend this, particularly right now. I know Urban Ops Armory sells cold burning smoke. Even then I would keep use of anything like this to the winter months of indoors. All that aside, I have always wanted to use some smoke out at the fields! =P

Why is everyone assuming it was for a sac air game? I do play with my friends too....

I didn't think you planned them for any sacair games. Especially considering that in your first post you state that you "know sacair rules on smoke bombs"

I am curious how a minor with no insurance is going to get a movie permit, more so are you supposed to registered with SAG or something lol

I would nix this based on not everyone being cool with being covered in powder. Cool concepts for friends though. FYI tennis balls are not grenades either. honestly the best bet for a grenade would be a thunder b, works out to be about a dollar a use.

I was trying to find out what was legal or not and in the end I ruled it out. How is ruling out something wrong? Also, again, my parents are more worried about an accident than me actually doing it on purpose, accidents happen with anything.

No matter what the rule is,I hate smoking!!
