New to AirSoft, former WWII Reenactor

Jun 24, 2013 2:59am
I'm just getting into airsoft and I live in Yuba City. I'm a former USAF and I was a WWII reenactor fighting as Big Red 1, 101 Airborne, 7th ID and a short stint in the 9th SS Panzer. I obtained the rank of Sergeant in my reenactor unit. I have fought in most terrains to include house to house combat at the former Fort Ord Mott site in Monterey, CA. I currently own a Summit P.1093 spring action AK-47 and a Soft Air Taurus PT24/7 CO2. I will also be picking up a AR-14 spring action rifle. (both of these rifles were used as props in "Miss Saigon") I just want to go out and have fun, make new friends and lower my stress level from everyday life. I'm 43 and I'm in good shape...but I know the pounding the body gets from battle...lol Please PM, email me or just leave a post with advice for this NOOB...Thanks!!

shit, you sound like me.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

What is the basic gear that I need? Other than weapons...

Reconrabbit put it best. To simplify when thinking about gear just keep this in mind, safety first, then function, then look. In order of importance. Eyepro and mouth/face pro if you choose is the first priority. Hydration is also a major factor in safety.
Play, shoot, laugh, enjoy the game.
