'Safe' Grenades from an 'old' Reenactor

Jun 29, 2013 7:21pm
I have seen some posts on the use of grenades in games/battles. While I was a WWII reenactor many many moons ago the GIs and the German units had developed 'Safe' grenades for the same reasons the Airsoft community, Safety.

During my days of WWII reenacting we only used 'smoke' grenades at the MOTT site at Fort Ord in Monterey. When we did use them we used military surplus. Never used them in a woodland game/battle, too dangerous. Pyro is illegal in the state of CA unless you have a licensed pyro person and even then it's dangerous in certain areas and situations.

Most of our admin will tell ya a tenis ball aint a grenade. there are several different styles of airsoft greneades. from sound grenades that make a loud boom when they go off. To ones that actually spray out bbs when they go off.
Play, shoot, laugh, enjoy the game.

Amen to that!!! from what I have been reading airsoft is not about the 'realism' like the 10 foot or 3 foot rules in reenacting but there still needs to be a little realism in normal airsoft games/battles. That's just my humble opinion. Again I see people go all out on their weapons and their personal gear to be as 'real' or 'tactical' as possible. The whole point of at least what the kind folks have been telling me and I have been reading that SacAirsoft is about having fun first...

exactly. fun first and foremost. realism is needed with in reason. but if you want to run around shooting bbs out a straw with a rubber band, then good on ya lol
Play, shoot, laugh, enjoy the game.
