CA M4-T keeps stripping the Piston

Nov 21, 2003 9:52am
I'm sure wear is normal, but this thing gets stripped every few months, (WITHOUT alot of use) this is the 2nd one, first was polycarbon, (the generic upgrades CA does to their guns) and this one was stock, they both worked for a few months, but then *GRRRRRRRRRRRrrrrrrrrzz* teeth get eaten off.

I bought a whole TM gearbox, and ofcourse that should have fixed it, but when replacing it i noticed my Hopop-Rubber-Seal was mangled/bent up...and I gaurantee that is where BBs would backup and cause the piston the strip.....

LoL...vincent is indeed cool. for CA guns i guess they seem to keep haveing the same problems. you just need to replace the piston, piston head, and tappet plate in the CA gear box and your gun should be fine, im not too sure if that was it, but i think it is.

Ya, that's not the first time I've heard of a CA having a piston getting it's teeth eaten. Try what Viper said and let us know if it worked.

I have a theory. I think it might be the CA "reinforced" gears. Use stock Marui gears...

Seriously, I just checked he is correct, this was from 2 years ago. LOL I'm sure this problem was fixed a long time ago.... Let's drop this topic.

Wait, Juan. I'm sure I got it figured out now. I think the spring is binding on the spring guide, which ramps up the spring rate. The added pressure is stripping the teeth to your piston.
