Airsoft GI AEG's

Hi guys, looking to buy a new M4 AEG and wanted to make sure I got one I could work on if it broke and needed repair. Its been awhile since Ive played...about 3-4 years and alot has changed. I am familiar with Mauri, Systema, Guarder, and Modify set ups. But I know nothing about the set up Airsoft GI uses with a Lonex gearbox and internals. I'm trying to determine in advance if its a good buy or not. Will I be able to replace the gear box down the road easily or is it proprietary like some of the KWA stuff. I have about $325 to work with for a new gun tops. Ideally I will switch the metal body with a G&P Navy Seal one once a trade is finalized. Thanks for any help guys.

lonex is decent stuff, have not seen the overall put together quality of the guns yet. try the Airsoft extreme in rancho cordova too, they have some apex rifles with solid internals and mbks for $230. oh and I would try and avoid G&p metal bodies, they have unique threads on the receiver for the barrel nut, meaning any rail system that uses its own nut or screws directy to the received WILL NOT work without additional parts or permanent and sometime expensive modifications.

If you get a G&P body you just need to get a G&P Delta ring and they are very cheap about 8 bucks. If you have 325 to spend I would just get a KWA MR RIS from airsplat.com and call it a day. If you don't want a KWA you should check out the brand new Classic Army M$ they are super solid with all the new internals and would be a great pick. If you want to get something solid that you can upgrade later but will still last a long time go with a G&G the internals are solid and you can upgrade them later. Just my 2 cents
