WOW! Great example of why kevlar doesn't ways save lives. Ya the bullet didn't go in, but the splintered ribs sitting in your perforated lungs are going to do you in anyhow. :shock:

The fact of the matter is that unless you have a trauma plate installed, a rifle round WILL penetrate ANY kevlar you are wearing. Even with a trauma plate you might have penetration, depending on the distance you were shot from.

Boron carbide Ceramic......will OWNthat 7.62X39mm rnd. the Type III Kevlar vest is made to stop small arms fire and fragmentation.

blunt force truma.( 1 1/2 inch is considered survivable) as for truma plates, center mass shot protection for blunt force truma and increases overal ballistic protection for area covered by plate. have heard of shots deflecting and striking officer's face and chin. ceramic plates can stop mutiple hits from rifle ammo, but bulky-heavy, not for everyday use. (high risk entry or military)
