sounds like your hop unit is not sealing/oriented correctly.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.
Not a battery issue at all, not even close. Im thinking either your hopup as blaino stated is not alligned correctly or seeing as it sat for a while the bucking got dried and torn and your having thus issue. I say take it to AEX.
