I'm new to this..

New to airsoft, always been really interested in playing, I used to play a lot of paintball back in the day and wanted to get into something where the scenarios seemed a little more realistic. I guess my only questions are what kind of guns would you guys recommend for beginners? Also what's the best way about going to an event? (I.E. rules of.battle, people I should talk to/check in with when I show up. Things of that nature) I make a decent enough living to be able to afford decent gear, and like I said this is definitely something I'm very interested in. If anyone has any help or tips I'd really appreciate it! Hope to see you all out on the field soon!

I'ma tackle the easier half first. AS for events. Check the events forum here on sac. The who to talk to, time to be there, etc, etc is normally listed in the event thread. Never be afraid to ask questions if your unclear on something.
Play, shoot, laugh, enjoy the game.

Their having a labor day sale this weekend, so it'd deffinately be a good time to go in and take a look, and maybe even buy some stuff. Hell I think I'ma be there saturday. Not sure though.

I actually just picked up a gun today! It's a M4 G&G Combat Machine. Got it on a trade from a friend of mine for a great deal. Has a magnified scope.

eh, G&G's make great entry level guns... Personally that optic is over kill for that type of gun. but hey, whatever floats your boat.

Yea I figured as much. I won't keep the optic on this one. I'll probably just rock the iron sights. I wasn't looking for anything to crazy right off the bat, once I start getting a little more serious with it I'll upgrade, but for now it works.

I rock a mostly stock G&G rl-8.. things a beast, and basically a dmr straight out the box. So the gun you got will do you well for quite some time.

Yea I was actually planning on that. I just need to.get a new battery and a face mask/goggles. And maybe some extra mags. Is there any sort of sign up i have to do? Do I just respond to the post and say I might be there? I have to make sure I'll have the free time before I give a for sure answer, but I'm pretty sure I can make it.
