This is an idea I've been kicking around for a while now. At the game on September 4th, I tried assigning a bunch of players to ref the games and it worked great. I'm thinking of taking one group of guys who are natural leaders, have plenty of experience, are good at organizing, keep a level head on the field, who aren't afraid to talk to people, and are very conscientious, and having them help ref games on a regular basis. Obviously, we've already picked the best of the bunch and added them as admins. The rest of them were slightly lacking in one area or another, but have great potential in the future.
Interesting, but are ref's needed that badly? I heard some people saying it was weird, it comes off sounding a bit like paintball to me, how well did the players take it at the game?
from what i felt at the Sept. 4th game was once people were told that do to the size of play on the field, we were gonna use Refs just to help keep things runnin smooth they were ok with it I didn't have to many problems with people questioning my rulings as a ref at the time. Any thing that i felt might be grey id send over to an admin to clear up, but that wasn't to often. I don't nescerily see the need for ref's at every game but we have had a few in recent history that might of helped on some of the on field complaints about how stuff might of seemed. We do have a fair number of players that already help us watch for trouble on the field but some of them don't feel it thier place to tell others how to play or not to play this would give them the abilty and confidance to help us out before anything happens.
