I had a debate with some people that say people who play airsoft can't handel paintball, and that Paintballing hurts more, and there for the people who play are more "Manly". They also use the highly false premise that since since Airsoft has Asian orgins that it has some connects to being weak and the whole "small penis" myth.

IMHO these people sound like morons and maybe a little racist... I often find it funny that most people who talk like this usually don't have any real experience with what they are passing judgement on... just my two cents...

At my old school some of the guys knew i played airsoft and they kept calling me pussie and airsoft has the word soft so it doesnt hurt and all htat BS. i told them that i liked the more realistic looking guns and theres more you can do to them. these guys have never handled real guns and they think that a paintballgun is similar to a mp5 i showed them. once they saw my gun they kinda took a liking to both sports.

haha why do they think a mp5 looks like a paintball gun??? and plus, with airsoft, u can choose different types of guns, and stuff like that...with a paintball gun, the body type is the same...its really ugly too.i would rather be shot with a bb, cuz i aint a pussie like some ppl sayin that paintballs hurt more...they are so freakin dumb(paintballers)

Im gonna have to agree that paintball hurts more. Call me a puss but thats one reason among others I dont like paintball. It was mostly the cost and I just never liked the gameplay. If you dont throw atleast 600 into your gun you just cant be competetive.

man, I have this debate at work all the time. I have some serious paintballers at work and they always call me a pussy for playing airsoft but I say whatever because I am not playing the game to hurt people, if I wanted to hurt people I would join the army. I play the game because the guns look hella cool and for the tactics of the game.

The photo is coutacy of a filipino airsoft magazine.I was in the PI(Phillipine Island),and played a couple airsoft games,and YES,they hurt!Their FPS limit is around 500 FPS for AEG's!...I swear,after every round,at least 1 person is bleeding.Its pretty crazy because they play in the rain because its so damn hot...I got my 733 to shoot around 420-430,and I felt like it was weak!..Those were some good times.I ALWAYS WORE A FULL FACE MASK!!HAHA..Yeah,im a chicken :?

Everyone has their own opinion about many things. I myself have never tried paintball so I can't say too much about it. But I can talk about how it looks. I was really turned off by the un-realistic look and the lack of full-auto. Nobody said paintballers have to wear their flourecent colors, I've seen some people wear BDU's for paintball. It all depends on your flavor just like in Airsoft, some like standarad mags only and really hate hi-caps because hi-caps are unrealistic. It's like how come people think Formula 1 racing is better than nascar but still have the same general theme, racing. So with airsoft and paintball, they both shoot projectiles. It's all your own personal opionion. I've heard paintballers converting to airsoft and vice versa.

why is this still a topic?

I played paintball for about 7 years. I've not played for the last 1 and 1/2 due to budget. Paintball is the about the same as I last played. When I first started, we paintballers played in cammos, played on acreage of wooded land and relied more on or skills of stealth and accuracy. We made (or tried) each shot count. The safety was just paintball approved goggles on during play, barrel plugs in barrels when not in play and 300FPS minimum. Since then, full face masks/goggle systems were required, players started dressing up as if they were in a BMX bike race and markers (guns) were sold based on how many balls per second could be shot from them. The technology put into these markers had grown rapidly. They now have affordable electro markers. For my favorite brand of paint back then cost almost a $100 bucks for 2500 rounds. Now they run from around $25 dollars to $80 depending on the now variety of brands and makes. Every magazine you pick up about paintball seem to cover big "speedball" events. Speedball is a game that is played on a field that is no bigger than 50 yards by 25 yards. The players don't seem to use the "make each shot count" method, instead, they "spray and pray". Unbelievable how fast it has changed.

Who really cares what someone plays? Sure paintball may hurt a little more, but that doesn't mean Airsofters are pussies. I happen to play both, and enjoy both for different reasons. I have met and played with Navy Seals, Marines, Rangers, and SWAT members who play Airsoft. Are those "manly" paintballers going to call them pussies? Besides, probably most people who judge Airsoft have only been introduced to a fraction of the guns available to Airsofters. A lot of those macho paintballers I know have only seen the little springers and minis sold at places like Big 5. :? And even if Airsoft doesn't hurt as much, why must we judge people based on one tiny, insignificant factor, like whether their sport hurts less? Someone please explain THAT intelligently.

I played paintball for 12 years or so most of which was pro tournaments, which are speedball games. I loved the sport very much and had a blast playing it. The cost of playing was way to great. I have one paintball gun that cost $1,000 and my other one was $400, and that dont include air tanks and other stuff... $50 t0 $150 for a case of paint, if you want good balls. Roughly every weekend cost me about $150-$200 dollars, give or take depending on if it was a tournament or regular game. Then people began to wear tournament uniforms for every game lookin all bright and colorfull, Like dude said earlier A Bunch of bmx bikers running around, And that began to ruin my experience. Then I seen Airsoft on the history chanel back in 2000 and was in love. I have only played airsoft a few times in big groups,.. mostly played at the creek with my bro, But i personaly enjoy airsoft alot more, for one the guns are nice replicas of their real world counter parts and i just have more fun carrying my AK-47 through the bush changing clips and all that good stuff. As far as which sport/hobby is better, ME personaly I have to go with airsoft, For some its paintball. And for which one hurts more, paintballs leave a real good welt and at times have even cut my skin on close shots, but i never had to dig a paintball out of my skin like some airsofters have had to do. Both sports are a lot of fun, it just comes down to what someone prefers....AIRSOFT!!!!!hehe

"Airsoft is better!"...Thats obviously what you'll hear more on a AIRSOFT website. "Painball kicks airsofts ass!"..........thats on a painball website.

350fps no, I remember reading the thread on that game, its pretty much take any type of gun and pump it up as high as you can, and shoot each other and see how much pain you can take

Accually you guys, this topic was more to show off the hella sick picture I found online, I always post it on people myspaces when we are going softing. Accually the story I read about the picture is from Tawiian, and the dude got lit up by a stock CA m4, but he was about point blank range as he put his head though a window, and THREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! BBs in the kisser. This was more of a show off a picture post then debate ish, but this is awsome!

I don't like much about paintball but I never get into those people and say any thing about what they like, so what are you doing in here??? I guess HE might be like our toys but he is not wealthy enough to play... :lol: :lol: :lol:
