Who wants to try to break a V1 gearbox? (Without a hammer.)

So Tuan (Bluedragon_Asia) bring me his FAMAS SV to upgrade with an M100 spring and King-Arms Bearings. (Uber tight fit. New gun.) With the removal of 7 screws and one clip, the mechbox drops out. This thing is SOLID. The version 1 gearbox is much stronger than people give it credit for. Unless it's made of some other form of weaker pot metal that I don't know of, this has to be the most robust mechbox shell I've ever seen. It has almost no cutouts or fracture points. Other than the motor limitations, this is almost an ideal mechbox for high power upgrades. It's not going to be able to take much more motor without some SERIOUS modification, and another major downside is that it doesn't have a motor engagement adjustment set screw. Although there's risk of motor damage with high power upgrades, I believe that a lot of the strain on the motor can be overcome with infinite torque-up gears. Even still, should you kill the motor, most overseas retailers do carry replacement ones for this at a very reasonable cost, and this gun will take about 80% of the same parts that other normal AEG uses. Here's a few pics of the opened gearbox...

That thing looks like it'll go straight into a 249.

Oh yeah. It was shooting 270 fps before the upgrade. With the M100 spring, it was pushed up to around 335 fps...

Man, that sucker looks pretty strong. How is the mechbox as in noise-wise? Is it pretty quiet?

Thanks to Kevin, My Famas now shoot little hotter... :D ( It can puch though can of coke at close range ). But still qualify for CQB ~ 330 FPS.
