If you want your guns to look the most realistic they can, stick with standards, especially with the fake bullets on the P90...

It was a sad day in paradise when we had to trade our MP5's for the P90's, the P stands for PPHHHHTTTT!  That weapon is a piece of crap, the only reason that we went to those is they are cheaper and HK quick making spare parts for the MP5's. There is no way in heck I would spend my money on even a fake (airsoft) one! Of course, that's my opinion.

To the best of my knowleg:

Actually, the P90 was designed to replace the SMG in the arsenal, not the carbines. It's really not designed to be used at range, and was intended as more of a CQC anti-personnel weapon. (Think "room clearing" weapon.) The velocity of the rounds are 2,346 fps, which exceeds that of the M855 or M193 5.56x45 rounds. (Albeit at a lighter weight. Another telltale sign that this gun was not designed to be used for mid to long range.) One of the major considerations that was taken when designing the round was to defeat body armor, which is does very effectively. Another purpose for the weapon was to be an easily operated weapon for people who did not commonly go into the field. It's completely ambidextrous and is simple to operate. Again, it is not a replacement for carbines and rifles. Here's where I pulled some of the stats for it...

all that complimants what I said. I wasn't positive on the exact FPS thatw why I used words like "Over" and "To the best of my Knowleg" It was supposed to be a replacement for the 9x19mm SMG but never was addopted by the US goverment or other major Nato allies.

Well, gee whiz, since the U.S. gov't ment doesn't use them....what I am I using to replace the MP-5?! Yes, it's used for CQB/HRT etc.. It's still crap though even with all the statistics that were listed previously.

What branch of the US goverment do you work for?

All I know is what we were told. That all looks real pretty and such, but they can't even get us our new badges, uniforms and credentials. We're still running around in uniforms from a defunct agency. By all rights, we can go into a facility and be turned away. It's been a long ongoing battle. All that info you have there, it's called Psyop, it's to make it sound as if something positive is happening, it isn't. Hate to burst the bubble. But that's the cold hard truth. I could go on and on, but I won't.

Just to throw in my two cents. The are several police depts and other govt agencies that use the p90. I know for sure that the Houston PD and Scottsdale PD use them. They are excellent weapons. Lightweight, accurate and can easily punch through a kevlar at 200 meters. If I knew how to upload pics, I'd share my pics using one last year. I like them a lot, they have less recoil than an MP5.

To each his own my friend, all I know, is that we don't really particularly care for them. Maybe we're just spoiled by the MP-5. It's just like the Baretta though, we hated those (still do) when they decided to get rid of the .45, now there's rumors floating around about the military going back to the .45 as the standard issue. Right now specops uses .45's still.

Who even makes ammo for the gun? Is FN the only one so far? It seems like it would be a pain and a half but that’s just me. Hasn’t the P-90 been around from the late 80’s on?(IKD, remember reading something to that effect) That’s seems like allot of "development" time to only now being implemented by Police/Govt agencies.
