Since I've been posting on these boards, I've had the pleasure of posting to be educated, humored, intertained and enlightened. That being said, I feel it neccessary to post this concern. There has been situations posted here that I feel need some sort of remedy or action. Flame wars. I'm not referring to just those who do the posting, but to how they attract response and how the responses are carried out. The posters have a range of being both newbies or vets. I noticed that, in some cases, that admins are guilty of this too. All this aside from simple friendly "ribbing". Enough to believe that some admins are abusive to given powers (I'm not going to be secific). I have seen posts that were personally disrespectful to others. Things that only seem to be said on the boards but not in person. The way I see it, if one doesn't have the "globes" to make such remarks to said individual, then it shouldn't be produced on the boards. Even if it can be said in person, such remarks should be between those (and only those) in question. The posts seem to be used as a "force field" for some individuals to say whatever they want, without real life consequences (such as getting dropped kicked by the offended). Some of these posters seem to also disregard the recipient of the post, such as age, occupation, male/female or if it is a 300lb. ex convict named Bubba that would as much put them in a sundress and call them Susan. :wink:

Stuff like that happens...People will be all up on your nuts...Just deal with it.FLAME THEM BACK! :twisted: hehe....or not.

Wow, The post above mine is redulouse! But I must agree. Thats part of a message board, the freedom, and not being acting and talking with a degree of saftey and anonymity. Being able to say things without the fear of as you said, "Getting drop kicked".

dude, Dycropts, is right on. I am in a Communcation major (dubble major in Poly Sci! I bring that up alot!). He is right on the money on that one. The best form of communcation is direct face to face. See body movment, tone, how the person stands ect. Phone or voice communction is 2nd best and is ok, you can hear mood, tone, stuff you can hear. The worst form of communction is text or written. Can't tell jack about what the person is feeling or the motive behind it, there are some people who can do a better job at it. Like you read joke books or do mad libs, that kinda of stuff is people being good commuacators.

All agreed except for those that "ABUSE" the forums. We all know what playful banter and ribbing is. For instance, if I said Dycropts is so skinny he has to run around the shower to get wet. :) That of course, is just ribbing. But there were things said that gets on the boards that pretty much violates respect. Of course I'm talking remarks that reflect the other person's intelegence. Words such as idiot or moron. In my book, that is disrespectful. (aside from ribbing).

I like all the comments about trying to be civil in our posts etc. I think what I like most about these forums is that eventually you WILL meet the person your flaming face to face if you both go to games on a regular basis.
