Camp Far West has a free range out there.... basically a hill for target for handguns and a nice rifle area. Some tables, limited shade, not too many people but its a good ways away from sacramento.

I've driven by the one just north of Lincoln on Hwy 65. It is just north of the Gladding McBean clay plant and just south of the Sierra Pacific lumber mill. All an assumption, but I believe it to be free. Shade, tables, large burms and it looks well kept. Looks like a good place to shoot. I'm sorry if I don't know the specifics. I'm just pointing you to a place that I've come across. I've never shot there (or anywhere else around here).
