My stepson got himself an airsoft gun last week, a CSI MP5. I was facinated with it and went over to Airsoft Extreme to check out the sport. Needless to say, I was blown away at the quaulity and realism of the Softair products. Well, I walked out with a brand new Classic Army M15A4R.I.S., battery pack, charger, 3800 rounds, two hi cap magazines, etc. I would like to show up and try out the sport at Airsoft Zone in Carmichael on a Tue night, since I live around the corner from there. What I need to know is, what do I need to dress in? Dark, light, helmet, hat, boots, ? . I have no idea. A tac vest is probably a good investment as well as goggles and face mask. I have one concern though. I'm 40 years old, and I really don't want to be the only adult over there. I would feel silly. Are there other people my age that airsoft? I'm really athletic and keep in shape, so I'm sure I could handle running, ducking, and such. Just looking at the airsoft sport as a new kind of diversion and fun. Got permission from my wife too! Bonus! :D Thanks everyone-John

Where dark clothing. We play alot of pitch black and black light only games.Boots are up to you. I where them because I dont want to be shot in the tendon.

Hey, just wanted to say welcome. Trust me you are not the only adult into airsoft (in 33 and definitely not the oldest playing). I haven't been to AZ yet, but hear from good,, reliable sources that it's fun. Usually we have a game going on on Sundays at one of several fields, you should check it out if you get a chance.
Behold the Coolness That Is John
I'm 36. Welcome. I've yet to play Airsoft Zone. If you're as fit as you say you are, let me just say that if I can play this sport, so can you. I'm a little "under tall" for my weight.

Hey Brian Rice, you wouldn't be Brian Rice from local 522 would you?
I encourage people of all ages to play the sport. I loved it when I was 12 and I love it still at age 20. I may be a young guy, but none of that is really relevant on or off the field. My main concerns are for people's safety and for the longevity of airsoft and it's communities. The game can be a wonderful sport, however it has been given quite a negative image by the media as people continuously use their airsoft guns improperly. Please ask as many questions and be aware of the laws concerning airsoft. The main rule I use is treat your gun as a real firearm until you are on the field. This will prevent many issues that I see over and over again!
I went to Adventure Zone and put my $10 deposit for the Aug 13th All Night airsoft from 12 midnight to 7 am. It will be Saturday night, Sunday morning. Should be fun. I'm looking forward to it. I went to the Army Surplus on Auburn/College Oak and got decked out in black BDU's, boots, and hat. I should be hard to see in low light conditions. I need to get one extra battery pack and a face shield w/goggles and I'm all set. I went and got a airsoft Baretta 92 F pistol for the under 40' ft requirement. It's just a spring pistol, single shot at a time, but it's better than nothing I guess. Looking forward to seeing you guys if you are there-John
