Just got into the sport and went into Airsoft Extreme and bought a new Classic Army M15A4 R.I.S. without really knowing anything about it other than it was one of the better ones. I know that it is pretty good in regards to it's quaulity. Metal body, metal bearings, etc. I heard someone say that the piston (plastic) would be better if it were aluminum. I need input. What should I do to this gun to make it last for the long haul? I want something that will not break barring an accidental drop or something like that. I read that the spring gives it around 313.5 ft per sec power. I know that there is a limit for field play on how much power you can have. Should I just leave it alone? I know if I upgrade the spring I will need to upgrade gears, upgrade motor, and then my batteries will not last as long. Anyone with experience on this model?

I'm sure a lot of people have opinions on what you should do. As for the piston, ya, I've heard that CA's pistons go bad sometimes but in time you'll eventuall have to replace some parts in the gun. It also depends on how you play. If you like to hold the trigger down and fire a whole 300 rounds at once, you are just asking for your gun to break down. The fps is okay, it's above stock TMs. I believe you should play with your gun first before doing any major upgrades. I hate it when people buy their guns and the first thing they do is upgrade the heck out of it. If I were you I would just leave your gun stock for now until something breaks. If you want to give it a little more power, maybe an M100 or M110 spring will do you fine. Classic Army's are pretty durable and all you need to upgrade it is a spring/piston I believe since almost everything in there is upgraded already. As for battery power, a 3000-3300 Nimh battery should last you the whole day. Airsoft Extreme is I believe one of the best dealers out there and you couldn't do any bettery than them.
