Help me troubleshoot my AEG problem please

My CA M15A4 is doing two things that I don't understand. The first is that it will shoot two or three balls at a time at times. The second is that sometimes the magazine will dump 20 or 30 balls out the barrel without pulling the trigger. This usually happens if the tip of the barrel is tipped down. I took it apart for inspection and everything in the gearbox/piston mechanism appears fine. I suspect the problem is in the hop-up area. When inspecting the hop-up chamber I noticed small amounts of gearbox grease on the inside of the hop-up chamber and hop-up rubber. I have since cleaned it, but have not had a chance to test it yet. Does a greasy/oily hop-up chamber cause two balls to fire or balls to pour out the barrel? Do you think I found the problem? If you have experienced this problem or know about it please let me know-John

hop unit/hop bucking issue...

Yes, of course I opened it up. The gearbox is fine. The piston, the thing "don't know the proper name" that pushes the ball into the barrel, all fine. Yes, the balls have gone out the barrel when I have just inserted a mag, but has done it in the middle of a magazine as well. When you say hop up/bucking issue, this means the firing chamber, right? So could the gear box grease resedu have been the cause?-John

All fixed. It WAS the hop up rubber. It was so slick with a film of gearbox grease that it allowed balls to freely pass before they were supposed to. Now I have no problems at all. Everythings perfect. Thanks for the input guys-John
