Airsoft is a sport that has been based on a sense of realism. So, why the heck do we have these M203 grenade launcher things that, well, are basically giant shotguns?

maybe because is explosives launced at people is potentally dangerous?

I simply use it because it looks cool and makes a big bang :D

I don't bother with M203's because they're ineffective and a waste of bb's. They have poor effective range and they it doesn't take much wind or leaves/branches to throw the shots all over the place. True story...

Ask yourself the Q's....everyone plays for different reasons.

i just got a 203, its weight is pretty realistic. i like shooting it in rooms whee people are in.

you can't blame the aisroft God's for unrealistic 203's. Fact is it is another element that enhances the game. I am sure if it was within our capability to create the perfect working replica 203 airsoft shell we would do it.

Sooooo.......................are you trying to say the M203's(airsoft) arent as realistic as they should/could be?How would you make them more realistic?put a fog machine up front,so after everytime you shoot it,you can press a button to make it look like a "real" M203?I mean,come on,airsoft is already far from the "real deal" by having hi-cap mags which can hold up to 600(AK-47) rounds.And standards still hold plenty more than the "real deal".We also have electrical winding box mags with maybe aroud 3000 rounds :shock:.With the M203,your accualy adding more realism by weight,and looks.

did you ever think of using nerf footballs in the 203's? they fly 100-150 yards(a little less than real thing) but you than use a 5-10 foot kill rule. just a thaught. if this idea has alreday been posted than sorry but i didnt read the whole thread.

Just like someone said before, it all depends on how you like to play. Some people like airsoft to be as realistic as it can be and some people just like the fact at shooting one another. I honestly don't like my little mini launcher myself as to some people have said they have their problems but they are just cool to have/own/shoot. Plus the shells tend to give me problems.

i like the nerf football idea! one of my team members has one, haven't seen it, another is getting one. i'm skeptical for the exact thing stone said in the beginnig. but hey, it's a game. the one thing that i've heard people doing which i think is rather "wierd", only because i'm such a friggin realist (sorry, it's what i do! :lol: ), is holding the 203 round in the hand and shooting it manually. i would never ever use a 203 in a real room that i'm standin outside of, so why would i do that with an airsoft? you want to play realistically right? um, what else? here's a thought, if you're doing a cqb, use a "notional" flashbang or concussion grenade? all you'd have to do is throw it in and yell, "flash" or "concussion". my dos centavos

Why does everyone keep trying to buy my stuff that I'm not selling? :? Michaeld tried to buy my VSR-10, Snoopy keeps trying to buy my AK-47, Parafrog tried to buy my VSR-10, Riotdork wants my G36C, and now SWATmonkey is trying to buy my mini-launcher. On the other hand, I've had an MP5K up for over a month now and nobody will take it off my hands. :?

LOL... Everyone will always prefer the stuff people don't want to let go of/sale/trade (hmmm... I wonder why) instead of the stuff they want to sell/trade.

All I have to say is over sized shotgun or not they can still be used at medium range just put arch in as a facter and BOOM! its raining BB's down on the other team. :twisted:

For those not in the know,

I guess the guy hasnt been into a lot of games. People use nade launcher for long distance assault. Just because it could should straight does not mean it couldnt be lobbed.
