I have a CAR-15 and an SR-16, both stock, that I purchased from Redwolf Airsoft in Japan. I want to get one of them above stock, to somewhere near 380-390 fps, so I have three questions seeing as I am new to this upgrade business. 1) Which gun do you recommend upgrading? Will one work better than the other? 2) What kind of upgrade should I get (what kind of spring, brushings, etc) 3) How should I do it? Do I have to drive to one of the walk in stores or can I mail someone my gun and have them install it ( I don't know how hard it is to install them myself, i rarely venture into the inner workings of my AEGs) Any help is appreciated.
you could take it to fortress hobbies...go to the retailer section...they have parts for sale there as well... SR16 would wbe much better to upgrade...the CAR-15 has limited battery storage for a 380 FPS upgrade
I just bought an M4a1 from Fortress Hobbies, and having played paintball I knew I wanted extra distance, so I got a Bushing, and Spring upgrade, shooting at about 390-400fps now. What I did not realize though, is that shooting that high, will cut the life of your gun in half. The bigger spring is a lot harder on the life of the gun.
1) dunno about the car 15's but sr-16s are sexy...they got RIS system plus have enough room for a large battery in the stock.
What's a signature?
get a pdi 150.... no need for pushing the limit to 400 fps... should put you around 365ish, i use a m100 in one of my guns, and .25g bb's. distance is fine. dont have to push everything to the limit.
