well it might take me awhile to save up for one but, i wanta get a sniper rifle. and im asking if its fun and worth the money. if so any suggestions on the gun in want?
Sniping is fun but you have to have patience to do it.

It really depends, I guess. (I say that a lot lately.) It's fun for some people, but it bores the daylights out of me. I don't have the patience for it when playing. (Real life is a whole different story. I want as much distance between me and opfor as possible.) I prefer to move and I like the adrenaline rush of engaging. I also find that airsoft sniper rifles, even with super heavy bb's, just aren't accurate enough. External influences can really ruin your shot.
the first time i tried it, it bored me to death, and i thought it would be cool. i ended up coming back to it and now enjoy it for about half the games i play.
yeah, if i had a sniper rifle, would love sniping, i reall want to get the money and get my gun to look and shoot like the sr-25 from socom the game for ps2.
theres a lot of factors in what make it "fun" i guess. depends on what you get a kick out of really. its really not some people's thing.

In close range combat, an unsuspecting melon will get the back of its melon blown off.
yeah..my m700 works pretty good..i love getting those shots off on people that thnk they are hiding!....but i also luv being sneaky! like my "HUG" kill and KNIFE kill on neo !...
ya it depends on the kind of person you are. like me, i dont like sniping that much because i have bad accuracy, and no patience. i love to rush in and engage as many people as possible. i always like to be upfront and in the action. but then i know people that love to sit in one spot and snipe people 1 after another for hours. just depends on your battle style i guess.
$hit happens when you party naked
the only problem is that everyone wants to snipe which gets pretty annoying. its cool to have a good sniper on your team, because that can be extremely valuable. but when you have a bunch of 13 year olds who insist on it because they "want to be cool" and won't listen to reason you end up getting massacred because teamwork in airsoft is critical.
The problem with airsoft sniping is the ammunition. The 6mm bb is just not equipped to fly accurately, and is too light and easily affected by wind, humidity, and even temperature. the gas used in most sniper rifles is unreliable at best, and when a sniper is under duress and his team is busy, 99% of the time he is dead. unless your team is willing to have a complete spotter with the sniper, the sniper is not very useful. the other issue is for tactical purposes. the true benefit of a sniper is to recon an area, enemy, gun emplacements, entrenchments, that sort of thing. with airsoft, not many people have $150 throat mics just so their sniper can talk to them, nor should they. i know some people reach this extreme, but its not necessary. specialforces, who i have played with extensively, purchased a very nice kar98k (gas) .43g bb's, and a high quality scope. he is an excellent shot with an AEG and pistol, and yet with his new rifle, he averaged about 1 kill a day (8-10 games) whereas with his mp5, he could get at least 1 a game. now, if you're willing to spend the $500+ on a rifle, another $20 for special ammunition, more for gas (depends on what you get) and THEN all of your unique sniping equipment that isn't really interchangable with an AEG (a good ghillie suit or even decent camo is $100 plus these days) and you have the patience, willpower, control, poise, determination, a sharp eye, a tuned ear, and a steady hand, then MAYBE you could be a sniper... just maybe.
A 7.62mm, 178 grain bullet travels at a velocity of 2600 fps and has 2,520 foot-pounds of kinetic energy, which is enough to penetrate through 9 soft-target personnel...
What about the "sniper" who plays with the rest of your team? He is there to help out with the long range shots or closer ones that you cant risk giving away position for. Thats where quiet bolt action sniper rifles really come in handy.
