m4 problems

Aug 19, 2005 3:16am
every time i put in a mag and shoot a couple rounds, and after i shoot around 10-15 rounds, a bb gets jammed in the barrel/hopup. i siliconed the barrel, and got a new hopup cuz my other one didnt work anyway. anyone have any idea why the bb gets jammed. also, i can tell the bb gets jammed, cuz it starts to make a grinding noise, so i stop shooting, any ideas or suggestions....

With what kind of mag/s are you using and what brand of M4. The reason why I ask is I saw someone out in the field w/ a simular problem. From my understanding, he had a Star (brand) mag with a CA m4. I guess they don't mix right as was told to me by Ronnie at AEX. I tried to buy them but good ole Ronnie saved me by allowing me to test a mag on my gun before I bought it. I was able to shoot a few bb's before it jammed in the mag. I was glad it only got that far.

He has a ICS M4 and he is using ICS mags i believe. From what i saw and heard i believe it is a gear problem, or piston probelm. I dont believe it has to do with the hop up due to the grinding noise. Id say let me check it out or take it straight to some one that can do better then me if you dont care about paying.

might be a slight crack in the nose of the gear box, meaning the fiston has shifted farther forward. Do you ever find cracked rounds when it gets jammed...

no i havent gotten any cracked bbs, what would i have to replace to fix the brobelm if its the piston problem u were talking about, and would aex look, or turn me away to norca?

45 to 75 bucks man, but go to aex, they are outstanding when it comes to ox problems. I know they've been slow lately, but now they have a full crew, and are looking to get their reputation back. try em out again...mickey has shaped things up there pretty good...

I'm not sure if they (AEX) will work in ICS guns (BUT DON'T QUOTE ME AS I DON'T KNOW)..

at the time i have been using cheap bbs. dot have any excells at the moment, but i swaped out my tight bore for the stock and it seems to work fine (odd) even thought i only shot about 100 rounds. second, the tight bore is brass, would i have this problem with a teflon nickel barrel???

Damn those cheap BBs.

If you are not having problems with the stock barrel then it is most likely the cheap BB's you are using. They just don't have the consistency as decent BB's do.
