landmines and other booby traps
Hi new to the site and hoping to hook up with you guys for some games in the future. I was wondering if you guys use land mines or not allow them. If they are allowed is it prefered to use bb's or powder? I am a fledgling sniper that is part of a 3 man recon/cqb squad. Land mines (I think) are a great anti-bum rush defense, plus you can pin people down into kill zones. anyways any thoughts on landmines?

Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.
I'm working on some small anti personel mines right now.
i have 5 toe pooper style mines ive made plus some i made for my bro. never brought them out though.... Id say use powder just to prevent random high fps shot.... check it out.
Dave - how much pressure is needed to puncture those canisters?
Ray's got the MOVES!
dave that is hella sick... wish i thought of that.
DC, stepping on one sets it off.
you could make some extra cash on the side selling those you know...

nice mine airsoftbum2006, if you dont mind think i am going to make a few dozen, try them out on a few unsuspecting friends. Think i will also try to make a trip wire variant. The only mines I have ever seen and used have all been paintball (ie spray paint) style. Wasn't until recently that i found airsoft bb mines. Anyone found a way to make a "safe" pungi pit??

Hey I have a great idea for a claymore type weapon that uses a pipe and a spring, it is triggered by a trip wire. It tested great I hit the trip wire and half my body got wacked by bbs. It was awesome. If interested let me know. I will send you the specs.

Operational is when you get reports of gunfire in the area.
The powder idea sounds good but would/could it have any effect on the guns? Secondly, being covered in powder is lame because when you respawn you look like a ghost(OVER THERE! THE WHITE THING! SHOOT IT!) and no, it doesnt all simply brush off(Ive done it to people before). Thirdly, depending on the force, its going to get in peoples eyes and noses if its fired in an upward direction morso than if it fires down. Im not trying to rain on parades but there are more things to consider. You've got some good flippin ideas guys! :)
In close range combat, an unsuspecting melon will get the back of its melon blown off.
back in the early 80's i was stationed in okinawa and went through the jungle warfare course there, NTA at the time. well they had booby traps filled with flour and yes, it got all over us, but we didn't have to worry about respawn because we were considered out anyway. plus with the rain that would fall usually afterwards, we'd get it washed off. flour does make a mess though.
i agree with richie boy,
jesus may be able to walk on water, but chuck norris can walk on jesus!
I like the idea of powder, but please don't use flower. If that stuff gets in your eyes, it stings like few other things.

how about scrapping the flour doom and mod an air horn so that it goes off when stepped on, then you get a loud blast of sound instead of a cloud of flour. another sub for flour....... dirt?? maybe?? find some good dusty dirt and use that, once i make a couple of those Co2 toe poppers i'll give it a whirl.

Ya, but then there's the problem of figuring out who tripped it. ("I haven't moved for the past 3 minuts. Did you trip it Bill?" "No, I'v been right behind you.") It has to be material, some thing that will emediatly and undeniably designate who is dead and who is alive. At the same time, it has to be able to be set up quickly, and make it so the affected players can start fresh when they re-spawn. Come on ladys and gents. We've got men, we've got an objective, we've got duck tape. Let's figure it out.

It is pretty easy to set up. It doesnt look like a claymore it looks more like a cannon type IED, the plus side is that they are reusable and you can carry ten in a back pack. I dont have a scanner so I cant send pics. But I will bring one to the game on the 4th.

Now how about the "Bouncing Betty"?? Anyone have or know about those?? I know a surplus store in reno that sold a kit for the real thing (minus the actual boom part), but I dont know if it could be modded for airsoft.

you can make bouncing bettys, i made some plans for some, only problem is that it could hurt someone if some one was over it, while it was triggered
-Happiness is a warm gun-
that is an easy solution, set the lanyard to like 2 feet high, that way it only goes about to the knees.
