Aug 26, 2005 5:41pm
I am preparing to build an Indoor Airsoft Complex in the Sacramento area.

Would this be open weekends? Weekdays?...

as someone who has been around for a couple of years, I would say you would have a great draw depending on prices and safety rules.
Seek the Narrow Gate, for the path is broad and the gate is wide that leads to destruction.

I am deff into playing in that kinnda deal, how much would depend on price

I think you are going to be booked with players for the next ten years. the need for an indoor complex other than Adventure Zone is so great that people are playing in their own homes just to scratch that "itch". If ever you need a volunteer, or even a financier for this "complex", please feel free to pm me or any other of the members of Dead Faction. We are to build a CQB team within the next month and the major problem we are having at this moment is where do we practice. Could you imagine the tournaments you could run out of that facility? Money, money, money man!!!

Enforce a 300 fps limit with .20g bb's across the board and semi-auto only engagement and I might show up once in a while.

CHARGE THE GATES! yay FPS wars...

My only issue with the full auto is that accidents happen. When they do, I'd rather have them happen at semi auto than full auto. You're firing and someone stands up in front of you, facing away from you. What's worse? A couple shots to the head, or a full auto burst to the head? The problem with indoor arenas is that you've got CLOSE engagement distances, and even under 300 fps, full auto can get nasty. Ask Sam (COOK) about it. He found out the hard way that a gun firing on full auto gains velocity. Exactly the same way that an engine at high rpm increases air velocity and compression. I don't dispute that games are more fun with full auto, but I'm just leery about the possible injuries that can occur.
By running semi only, and full games you will draw the most amount of people. Some will only show for semi only, others prefer full auto games with standards for more realism. At least this way you can appeal to both sides of the fence. I think you will find equal interest on both sides.
I hear and respect what Kevin has to say, he is right in that full auto can be hazardous..........seperate games would be good, or a player experience ranking system, where more experienced players were allowed more options...

Well, everyone is entitled to their own choices. (Although I thought we had established that games deemed "unsafe" should not be part of Sacair anyways. I guess we make exceptions to the rule now, as long as the player knowingly accepts the risk.)

scenario games could go a long way with a complex like the one you are about to create. Hostage scenarios seem to be the rave these days. Or even a disgruntled employee scxenarios, not to poke fun at past tragedies across the world, but realism may take shape better than you think. I like the idea of your complex being full furnished, very thorough...
