I use my combat boots the Army issued me over ten years ago. Been through quite a few insoles, but they've been the best boots I've ever owned.

I bought a good pair from Big 5 sporting goods for less than 25 bucks. I think they were on sale, but the sale seemed to have gone on for the last 3 months. They might still be at that price. Supposedly, they were $55 regular. Norca has them to for around the same price, but the pair I got from them tore at the top seam near the ankle after I tromped through a creek at Jimmy's (AKA Kahn) field. Can't say getting them wet is good for any boot, but they seemed to have given up to easy. I would still have them, but I left them outside one night and the next morning, one of the boots was gone. I can't play airsoft with one foot, so I went to Big 5. I tried to buy the boots with the side zipper, but since I've got size 13 feet, I had to take what they had. No side zipper. Yeah, They have those too.

for screwing around. hi-tech makes some pretty nice boots. if you're out in the modesto area or oakdale area, there is a factory outlet. on certain days, they have them as cheap as 9.00 a pair. hi-tech factory sale in modesto-think they have it two-three times a year. light weight and comfortable.
