Suggestion to solve large games

Sep 10, 2005 6:59am
Lately I've heard some folks complain about games becoming too large (This Sunday's Hill game is approaching 50). I was thinking a possible solution to this would be running a game on Saturday and Sunday. I doubt (although I could be wrong) that most folks would want to play both days. I think Sunday turn outs have been so large because that's the only game running in a given week. I'm sure there are some "con's" to this idea...

If you can get the admin coverage out for both days go for it. But I don’t think it is a good idea if you are out there running a 50-person game with one admin.

Well that is why we are bringing more admins on. We want more than one or even two per event. The more you have the better with the lead admin (more than likely the person that sets up the game or the one that has seniority) leads the admins.

We've had a lot of large games before without complaint. The only one time it's really a problem is when you put a lot of people on a very small field, such as the CQB field last week. But for fields like Nam and the Hill, you could easily get upwards of 50 people and there's more than enough room for 25 on 25. Keep in mind that last Sunday was the first game for a lot of folks, and they don't realise how much larger the other fields are. With Nam and the Hill, it's actually more fun with larger groups of people. We've actually got just about enough admins where we can get some good coverage. For this Sunday's game, we've got Shawn, Dave, Borden and myself. (And originally John. But his job is killing his personal time for enjoyment. How DARE Border's think that they own him just because he's colored!)

I think John's going to post it. That's going to be his debut. ;)

Soon I think. Haven't talked to Mike or John about it yet. We'll see.
