if you live near sacramento, just go to AEX and get a feel of those 2 aegs since they all provide the same functionality and your decision is really based on personal preference.

our oppions shouldn't count when it comes to guns we like Ak's we like m4's we like tm's we like ca's (ok some of us like them). recommending a good Aeg is hard to do when we don't know what you like, whats your style of play, or what you might want to be able to do to it down the road.

i agree with mike, i also have a beta...for being a ABS plastic body, it almost stays together as well as my old classic army M15...if i had to pick between a m4 and AK, i would go with a AK, because even at stock, it holds together nicely...also, if you buy a classic army M15 or any type of CA gun, look into buying a new piston, and piston head...it comes stock with steal gears and reinforcd gearbox, so out of the box, it can take up to a M130...but if you put a m130 into it, make sure to upgrade the piston and piston head first, if not, u will have pretty bag compression and the head might either fall off or just plain snap...which is never good.

in stock form, the ak and m4 will perform the same. however, in terms of durability, the stock ak wins. tm m4's will develop barrel wobble and their bodies like to flex (broken tabs anyone). in general, tm armalites improve in this regard with subsequent models (m4a1ris, sr16, m4 system) but the originaly m4a1 is not as sturdy as an akbs (though the difference isn't THAT bad if you know how to maintain your guns). however, if you wait for the m4 enhanced carbine from tm, then you'll get a pretty sturdy rifle.

If it's your first and only gun, get a TM G36C and call it a day...

Only main difference is the feel of the gun.Stock, they both shoot 280-285 FPS..And the AK hi-cap holds more bb's..BUt the support the M4 has from aftermarket factories is unbalievable.

Bleh. AK is good. But the AK and M4 are both more problematic than the G36C. The G36C is the single best gun for functionality, IMO.

but the g36 looks crappy compared to the ak or m4...unless its a g36k with the integrated scope/carry handle and it has an ag36...then i might be able to live with its looks.
