City Laws?
So let me just start out by saying my neighbor is a weirdo. I was in my backyard shooting at some boxes/cans, and he started asking me a bunch of weird questions. I think the funniest of wall was: "Are you training to be a terrorist?" I know he is way off of the wall by what older neighbors have said about him, so I'm a little worried about him calling the cops on me. I know I can't brandish airsofts guns in public, and all that jazz, but I was wondering about using them in my backyard within city limits. Is there any law or city ordanace saying I can't use my guns in my backyard?

i would think you would be ok in your own backyard. so long as you are only shooting targets. but this is Diane Fienstien and Barbara Boxer's state so IDK
what would the cops do? unless ur shooting into his backyard or causing trouble with them he has no good reason to. and the cops have no reason to get u in trouble on your property.
My friend got written up for shooting in his backyard. His weird neighbor said he shot there dog and the police inspected the dog and there wasnt a mark on it. But they still wrote him up. So now hes in the computer as a dog abuser.
"And when he gets to Heaven To Saint Peter he will tell: One more soldier reporting, Sir -I've served my time in Hell."
some cities have pass laws were it is Illegal to discharg a firearm within city limits. Roseville is one of them. Real firearms, Paintball guns, even BFAed guns are a no no. IDK if airsoft guns have fallen into that catagory yet.
I know the law down here says you cannot discharge firearms(including bb, paintball, and airsoft guns) within city limits.
In close range combat, an unsuspecting melon will get the back of its melon blown off.
Well in Carmichael the cops don't care we actually got them called they came with guns drawn.. after they saw it was airsoft they didnt care.. my friends neighbors are dumbasses.
So I decided to google this topic, after I posted, like any reasonable person would do, and I found this:

yea, we had a little incident up here in folsom, and im sure specialforces spartan will chime in (lol) but someone called the cops because they say they saw someone brandishing a rifle im public. so of course our normal field is just about ambushed by 5 cops. we all got to keep our gear,(most of us) so not to much harm done. no more local softing for us.
I asked my local authorities and they said that you can't do anything like that, even in your backyard because to a neighbor or somebody who sees you with a look-a-like firearm who doesn't know if it's real or not; so when the cops receive the call, the are responding to somebody with a firearm.

this is also why we planted lager trees in our backyard. so no stupid nehibors can look into our backyard. but lucky me, my nehibors dont really care if im shooting it, as long as they arent outside, so i just shoot down my street, and have something to cover my gun in case of a emergency.
ha, liquid, i remember that. that really sucked... i miss the field, but yea the cops that picked me up basically said that what we were doing was LEGAL just not well liked by the authorities. that's been what, over six months ago liquid?
A 7.62mm, 178 grain bullet travels at a velocity of 2600 fps and has 2,520 foot-pounds of kinetic energy, which is enough to penetrate through 9 soft-target personnel...
i was the one that got in trouble the most, and i say we go back out there. besides, if we get the cops called on us again (which isn't unlikely) , we all know the drill right? put the guns on the ground, lay on your belly, hands behind the head. and "yes sir" or "no sir" to everything.
im down to go after my football season. your right, they most likely wont do much, unless we get a d*ck of a cop out there.
i bet we get the same F***ing guy, lol...ahhh that would be perfectly classic...
My roomate wrote an email to the city attorney here in San Luis Obispo since i got him hooked on airsoft asking about the legality of shooting within city limits. Anything that fires a projectile is considered a firearm and is illegal. Real steel, airsoft, paintball, blow gun... anything. Thats here in SLO but i'd assume its the same in other citys with similar laws. The funny thing is the way the law here is worded, a spitball from a straw is illegal.

I went into the sherrif's office today and asked about shooting in my backyard. I was told it was ok, after the lady spent about 45 minutes trying to find something about the topic. The closest she could find was a code about bb guns, that shot metal bbs. She said that shooting in my backyard was ok, but I can't shoot at people on the street or anything, which is just plain dumb. The kids that shoot at random people on the street are going to be the downfall of the hobby.

I live in Davis and havn't had any thing happen to me yet but one of my firends who lives in another part of town was plinking away in his backyard one day when the cops pulled up out front and gave him a warning. D#mn nabors :x .Conversly, another of my friends plinks away in his backyard all the time, some times with several other people joining in. His nabors don't mind as long as he shoots tword his house or the street (his house is on a corner), provided there arn't any cars parked there. Remember: the cops most probably won't show up by themselfs; they are summond by the nabors. I guess the lesson is that if you wish to plink in the backyard, first ask the nabors if they would be O.K. with it. You can even offer up some simple rules about in which direction you shoot and at what time of the day if they aren't normally to agreable.
Operational is when you get reports of gunfire in the area.
Hello, first I wanted to give the number for the non emergency dispatch in Citrus Heights. 568-5115. The number for the service center (weekdays M-F 8 am to 5 pm I believe) is 727-4790.

Your name means nothing on the battlefield....
